Every time you turn on a water faucet in Belding and clean, clear water comes rushing out, you can thank the DPW.

The City's 2 water towers and 4 wells capable of pumping more than 4,000 gallons a minute are kept running smoothly by the DPW staff. The DPW is also responsible for sewers and lift stations, streets and snow plowing, park and cemetery maintenance, and the city motor pool, including police and ambulance vehicle care and maintenance.

Brush to be picked up must be placed curb side by 7 a.m. on the above listed dates, but no earlier than the 18th of the month. The total amount of brush and limbs per household shall not exceed 10 cubic yards per month. This may be waived at the discretion of the Director of Public Works in cases of devastational storms.

Call "MISS DIG"

Please remember to call MISS DIG before doing any digging on your property. This toll-free call alerts utility companies of your plans so they can stake the location of utilities in order that you do not hit them while digging. The utility companies can bill for damages if they are not notified. Remember to call MISS DIG at 1-800-482-7171 before digging on your property.
