Belding City Council Members along with Fleis & Vandenbrink, hosted a groundbreaking event for the new wastewater treatment plant on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. The construction is projected to take more than two years to complete.
Belding is a warm and welcoming community, a great place to raise a family and grow a business. The City's downtown is filled with historical buildings, such as the Pere Marquette Depot, Alvah N. Belding Memorial Library and the Belding Museum at the Historic Belrockton, which also offers an interactive children's museum. Although Belding is a small town, we are not small on things to do!
There are five parks, with four of them being located along the Flat River, which are known for canoeing, kayaking, tubing and fishing. We also have an accessible kayak launch dock. Lightning Bend is a 128-acre nature preserve along the Flat River with an amazing disc golf course known as SMASH Park. We have beautiful walking trails throughout the city, a skateboard park, and a second-to-none Veteran's Memorial. The state game area located in the northeastern portion of the city offers hunting, fishing and recreation opportunities.
Belding is home to the annual Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament, an annual Labor Day celebration and an annual Home for the Holidays celebration. Public transit services are offered through Dial-A-Ride, both locally and to two of our neighboring cities. Please phone us at (616) 794-1900 with any questions.
Thank you for your interest in our community.
